with other translated terms from  module "account" or 
module "mail", where the translation may fit.

The one you mentioned is in "website_portal" and 
it was corrected in August 2016 for V9.  To my opinion Odoo 
should allow to report such serious translation issues 
as bugs under a specific category to force quick correction. 
For acceptance as a bug the bug report should point to 
the term in transifex.

Your example is also good as it shows clearly the 
limitation of transifex from the Odoo point of view. 
You have to know where to find the term.
There is no possibility to search for a term in the project, 
f.e. in Odoo v9, or did i miss something ?

Secondly: The review process must be massively improved.

I agree. It is time intense to review, in addition to creative, non 
consistent or out of context translations it is not seldom simply 
false or clumsy german if we talk about full sentences in 
reports, email templates or help text. It could be discussed 
if there is a chance to priorise the terms to translate. 
I mean "back to the roots" by removing or separating 
contextual help, wizards, tours and other time intense 
terms to translate and review. I have no idea if that's possible 
to separate but it could help to focus at first on menus, 
field names in forms and reports. Voluntary community 
translators could focus on essential work. All other less important 
stuff should be moved into the enterprise edition as enterprise 
features, or apps in the store. For sure also more qualified 
resources are required.

As Odoo most probably will go ahead with Transifex, we should adapt our procedures accordingly.

Yes, but it is worth to discuss about improvements.
Transifex is far away from being the perfect tool for us and i can 
imagine OCA and / or Odoo developers could work 
on improved tools and better processes (bug tracker, inside Odoo translations, 
"own" platform for sharing and colloboration).

I think key is context in that regard. The problem is that it would be
a lot easier if one could translate right in the backend an push the
translation to the platform underneath.
