I can't see the picture, but reading this thread taught me quite a bit about 
pip, that's a good thing, thanks :-)

As a buildout and doodba user, I don't see the problem. All of the above are 
some of the preferred ways of distributing our work, and Stephane chose what's 
most convenient for him. The way tests are set up or how test dependencies are 
pulled won't affect any deployment, so I really don't see why we would make a 
fuzz about that? Especially as you have to opt in for that on repo level as he 
explained.

And doing away with some oca specifics like oca_dependenciens.txt also is good 
for any deployment strategy, right?

I'm pro Stephane's work
